At the 2027 Arnold Classic in Columbus, a top prize of $750 k awaits the winner, and veteran bodybuilder Hadi Choopan is preparing to challenge reigning Mr. Olympia Nick Walker. Choopan was forced to sit out the 2026 Olympia final because of travel restrictions, a setback that now fuels his determination to prove himself on the Arnold stage.

Host Dennis James introduced the matchup on The Menace Podcast, stating that the showdown will feature “Hadi and Nick” in a direct competition. He also warned that Andrew Jacked could encounter difficulties after a densely packed competition calendar, suggesting that fatigue may affect his performance.

The discussion panel also brought up Samson Dauda, whose potential appearance in Columbus could add another strong physique to the roster, while Derek Lunsford was described as unlikely to step onto the stage at all.

After posting an update on Instagram, Chris Cormier observed that Choopan appears to be nearing his peak condition and may feel more confident after the disappointment of missing the Olympia final. He emphasized that mental preparation plays a key role in an athlete’s overall readiness, especially when a major title is on the line.

Coach Milos Sarcev explained that Choopan’s team is working to secure travel authorization ninety days before the event scheduled for March 4, 2027. An early arrival, according to the coach, gives competitors time to adjust to the environment before intensive gym sessions begin.

Given Choopan’s fresh status, he could present a distinct challenge to Walker, whose recent routine shows little downtime. “If I was Nick, I would be very worried about Hadi, because Hadi is fresh,” said Dennis James of the 2022 Mr. Olympia winner. “Unless Hadi comes in, off.”

The full conversation is available on the Muscle & Fitness YouTube channel, where the panel also covered additional bodybuilding news, recent competition results, and upcoming event previews.
